Waterloo, IA – (September 6, 2019) The 3rd Annual Mental Health Summit will have sessions to provide you with information, resources, and best practices to serve and support racial and ethnic minorities who face mental health challenges in our community. You'll hear from a variety of experts in mental health, including two keynote speakers, Dr. Catalina D'Achiardi-Ressler and Dr. Keisha Ross, to share their valuable insights with you! Dr. Ressler is the founder of the West Des Moines Center for Psychotherapy and specializes in the treatment of relational and shock trauma, adult attachment, and relational issues. Dr. Ross is a licensed psychologist who works with individuals who have experienced or may be at risk for trauma due to physical or sexual abuse, neglect, or community violence.

Who: Healthcare Professionals, Educators, Social Workers, Law Enforcement and the General Public
What: The purpose of the Mental Health Summit is to equip our community's service delivery professionals with tools and best practices to support racial and ethnic minorities who face mental health challenges. We seek to help professionals, who work with these individuals on a daily basis, gain a better understanding of the underlying issues of these individuals' behaviors, as well as how to best respond in a positive, healthy, and impactful way. We also intend to provide attendees with information on local mental health resources, as well as resources for continued learning opportunities. Tuition is just $55 and includes breakfast, lunch and the sessions. 0.7 CEUs will be obtained.
