Cedar Valley United Way Begins Grant Funding Process

WATERLOO, IA – Applications for 2016-18 Cedar Valley United Way funding grants will be available at cedarvalleyunitedway.org on Friday, Dec. 4.

To be considered for these grants, programs must meet three criteria. First, the program must focus on one of the three funding areas, education — helping children and youth achieve their potential, income — promoting financial stability and independence, or health — improving people’s well-being.

In addition, any programs seeking to partner with Cedar Valley United Way must be a 501c (3) non-profit or have a fiscal sponsor with this status. Programs must also be within a 30-mile radius of Waterloo/Cedar Falls to be considered for a grant.

Informational sessions for applicants will take place on Monday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. – noon and Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Cedar Valley United Way.

Applications for the 2016-18 funding grants are due on Friday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. to Debbie Roth, senior director of community resources at Cedar Valley United Way. Grant recipients will be notified in May 2016 and investments will begin July 1, 2016.
